Lee Seung-gi, SUHO Join Seven-Artist Busking Lineup at Gwangyang’s Gubongsan Panorama Walk
SBS’s The Listen: The Season We Stayed visits Gwangyang for autumn-night performances by seven artists at Gubongsan Panorama Walk. The episode, airing at 10:50 p.m. on the 14th, includes new remake performances, special duets and a guest appearance by Kim Soo-ha.
Lee Young-hyun, Tei, Lee Seung-gi, EXO’s SUHO, Lee Ye-jun, YUJU and Kim Hee-jae bring autumn-night busking to Gwangyang’s Gubongsan Panorama Walk in the episode of SBS’s The Listen: The Season We Stayed airing at 10:50 p.m. on the 14th.
Following their stop in Daejeon, the seven artists continue their musical journey in Gwangyang, known as the “city of steel.” The episode pairs performances against the city’s sweeping scenery with a visit to POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks, audience stories and a surprise appearance by musical theater actor Kim Soo-ha.
The program’s preview describes the first episode’s special busking performances as bringing comfort and romance to an autumn evening. For the Gwangyang outing, it promises more varied interactions among the expanded lineup, emotional live performances and special collaborations.
Returning participants Lee Ye-jun and Kim Hee-jae make their presence felt from their arrival. Kim, the lineup’s most experienced participant in the show and now taking part for a third season, draws laughter by joking, “On The Listen: The Season We Stayed, I’m the senior,” as he playfully asserts his standing.
Lee Seung-gi and YUJU make their first appearances, completing the mix of returning and new members. The preview introduces Lee as an all-round entertainer whose work spans singing, variety shows and acting, and praises YUJU’s clear, steady voice.
The artists visit Park1538, the exhibition hall at POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks, described in the program’s preview as the world’s largest single steelworks. There, they explore the history and future of South Korea’s steel industry. A quiz with a prize for the winner prompts them to review what they have learned, but an unexpected question leaves the entire group flustered. The broadcast will reveal the question.
The evening’s busking takes place at Gubongsan Panorama Walk on Gubongsan Mountain, which the preview describes as an emerging Gwangyang landmark. With open views of the city behind them, the artists perform a selection intended to bring autumnal emotion and quiet comfort to listeners.
SUHO gives the first live performance of his remake of Zitten’s “Let's Be Well, Us,” released through The Listen: The Season We Stayed. According to the preview, his gentle, understated tone, emotional depth and delicate expression offer a different interpretation of the original and evoke the loneliness of an autumn night.
Since the recording was released in advance last week, the preview says, listeners have praised a new side of SUHO, describing it as a “rediscovery of SUHO.” Those reactions highlight his range, including his lower register and a genre listeners have had fewer opportunities to hear him perform.
Lee Young-hyun also unveils the first performance of her remake of Acoustic Collabo’s “I Miss You So Much.” The preview praises her delicate, wistful interpretation and reports that her expressive singing left both the audience and fellow performers deeply moved. Her recording, being released through the show, is due out on the 18th.
Lee Seung-gi’s remake of Buzz’s “You Don't Know Men” will be released in advance at 6 p.m. on the 14th, ahead of its first live performance in next week’s broadcast. The original has long been a karaoke favorite among men. The preview says Lee’s clear, powerful vocals will bring a different appeal to the song.
The Gwangyang episode also features special duets: Tei and Lee Ye-jun perform “Before Sunrise,” while SUHO and YUJU sing “It's Strange, With You.” Lee Ye-jun and Kim Hee-jae join forces for “Because We Loved That Way,” a collaboration the preview says surprised even Lee Young-hyun with its emotional impact.
The male vocalists perform “An Old Song” together. Solo performances include Tei’s “Today,” Lee Seung-gi’s “A Kind Lie” and YUJU’s “Unsolved,” adding contrasting voices and styles to the evening’s program.
The cold weather at the summit of Gubongsan Mountain also leads to an incident teased in the preview. Seeing YUJU shivering before their duet, SUHO immediately gives her his outerwear. He then finishes their performance clutching hand warmers in the strong wind, before an unexpected action sends the group into laughter. The broadcast will reveal what happened.
Surprise guest Kim Soo-ha, who plays Tei’s daughter in the musical Hell’s Kitchen, performs Younha’s “Comet.” The preview praises her distinctive tone and strong, clear singing, describing her appearance as bringing a refreshing lift to the Gwangyang evening.
Audience stories also shape the busking session. They include a commotion over spectators leaving midway, a couple facing a period apart as their 10th wedding anniversary approaches, and parents struggling with conflict with their adolescent daughter. The artists respond with heartfelt songs of comfort. An unexpected situation also prompts Tei to spend his own money to offer consolation, according to the preview.
The Gwangyang episode of The Listen: The Season We Stayed, combining competition, laughter, music and moments of connection with the audience, airs on SBS at 10:50 p.m. on the 14th. Full-length live performances from the show and other digital content are also available on the Studio:D YouTube channel, which recently surpassed 400 million cumulative views.
