'Doctor X: The Era of the White Mafia' (hereafter 'Doctor X') depicts the activities of the "mad genius of the operating room," Dr. Gye Su-jeong (Kim Ji-won), who uses her brilliant surgical skills to crush massive corruption without failure or compromise. The series continues its explosive 'Doctor X syndrome,' having swept the top spots as the number one non-English TV show on Netflix global (based on Tudum, 10/5–10/11), and ranking first in both the TV-OTT drama category and the integrated TV-OTT cast category for the second week of October according to FUNdex released by Good Data Corporation.

In the previous third episode, Gye Su-jeong (Kim Ji-won) proved her presence by using her outstanding predictive abilities and amazing skills to prevent a tragedy where a staff member at Guseo University Hospital almost died. Following this, a triumphant Jang Hui-suk (Lee Jung-eun) proposed a formal contract with extraordinary conditions to the hospital, but Director Bu Seung-gwon (Son Hyun-joo) put the contract on hold by recruiting a new surgeon, Na Dae-il (Jang Seung-jo). Consequently, attention is focused on how the appearance of Na Dae-il will change Gye Su-jeong's path.
