Jinyoung to return to the big screen with intense fighting action in 'Fighter'
Jinyoung is set to star in the upcoming crime action film 'Fighter,' portraying an unknown MMA fighter dreaming of entering the UFC.
Management Run announced on September 3 that Jinyoung is prepared to showcase intense fighting action in the film 'Fighter.' Jinyoung takes on the role of Hye-seong, an unknown MMA fighter dreaming of entering the UFC. The film depicts a youth crime action story where Hye-seong and his close friend Won-do (Kim Min-ho) become embroiled in an incident surrounding a cold wallet containing cryptocurrency worth 60 billion won while carrying out a dangerous request.
'Fighter' tells the story of Hye-seong, who struggles to protect his family while dedicating himself to training to cover his sibling's medical bills and debts. To prepare for authentic MMA action, Jinyoung began training before filming started and intends to realize fighting scenes that are similar to reality.
This work marks Jinyoung's first attempt to challenge himself with fighting action, moving beyond various genres such as romance and comedy, and is expected to show an intense side different from his existing image. Filming began on the 28th of last month, and the film is currently in production with a goal to be released in 2027.
