SBS has confirmed that Kim Rae-won and Park Hoon will star in the new drama Full Count, which is scheduled to premiere in February 2027. The series follows a tense rivalry between an acting manager and a pitching coach as they compete for the manager position of the Stars baseball club.

SBS has confirmed that its new Friday-Saturday drama 'Full Count' will premiere in February 2027.

Directed by Ham Jun-ho and written by Park Myeong-rang, and produced by Studio S, Betty & Creators, and TPS Company, 'Full Count' portrays a survival struggle in a sports battlefield where individuals use various tactics to seize the position of professional baseball manager.

The project is an ambitious production from SBS, which has established itself as a "house of baseball dramas" following the syndrome-level popularity of 'Stove League' in 2019. By scheduling the broadcast for February—a month without professional baseball—the network aims to satisfy the thirst of baseball fans eagerly awaiting the season opening.

The casting lineup is also drawing significant attention. Kim Rae-won, returning to home television for the first time in four years, and Park Hoon, an actor who has proven his overwhelming presence across various genres and platforms, are set to engage in a tense acting confrontation.

Kim Rae-won will play Hwang Jin-ho, the acting manager of the popular 'Stars' club, which is facing the risk of failing to make the postseason. As a battery coach, Hwang Jin-ho spent most of his playing career as a backup catcher without ever seeing the spotlight as a starter. While he receives better evaluations as a coach, he has lived as an outsider within the exclusive atmosphere of the 'Stars', which values pure bloodlines. He now plunges into a fierce vortex by taking on the acting manager position, which is described as a "poisoned chalice."

Park Hoon will portray Jo Dong-hui, a pitching coach and a legendary pitcher for the 'Stars' who is considered the top candidate for the next manager. Despite his brilliant career, he carries the deficiency of never having won a championship during his playing days, and his goal as a leader is to lift the championship trophy. In this pursuit, Jo Dong-hui views competing for the manager position against Hwang Jin-ho, whom he considers a second-rate player, as a source of shame, revealing an ambition to use Hwang Jin-ho as a scapegoat to ascend to the throne.

Attention is focused on the intense rivalry between Kim Rae-won and Park Hoon as they vie for the 'Stars' manager position. The drama is expected to deliver gripping tension, not only through the nail-biting battles on the field but also through the meticulous psychological warfare and power struggles occurring in the dugout.

The new SBS baseball drama 'Full Count', which continues the successful lineage of 'Stove League', will air in February 2027.
