LG HelloVision announced on Tuesday the 20th that its local channel news program will feature a special segment titled "National Assembly Audit, Asking the Region" to highlight policy issues such as Busan sharks, medical tourism disparities, and small high school teacher shortages.

LG HelloVision announced on Tuesday the 20th that it will operate a special planning segment titled "National Assembly Audit, Asking the Region" through its local channel news program, , to focus on major inquiries and policy alternatives directly linked to the future of local regions during the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea audit period.

In alignment with the "5 poles and 3 special zones" era aimed at promoting balanced regional development, the special project intends to rapidly deliver National Assembly audit issues that touch upon the daily lives of residents, ranging from coastal ecosystem crises caused by climate change to disparities in medical tourism and the need for improved educational conditions.

As the National Assembly audit serves as a venue to inspect the policies of government ministries and public institutions, major tasks directly affecting the lives of local residents are discussed intensively. LG HelloVision plans to fulfill the role of a "bridge for regional coexistence" by delivering various regional development discussions from the audit floor to residents from their perspective and helping these discussions lead to practical institutional improvements.

The special project "National Assembly Audit, Asking the Region" is composed around life-oriented policy issues that residents can feel. Recently, it highlighted the appearance of "Bukangi," a shark near Busan North Port caused by rising water temperatures, examining coastal safety measures and ways to protect the livelihoods of fishermen in response to changes in the marine ecosystem. Additionally, it addressed the urgency of expanding educational infrastructure by pointing out the concentration of surging demand for foreign medical tourism in the Seoul metropolitan area, as well as the gap in subject offerings and the shortage of teachers at small-scale high schools.

LG HelloVision plans to closely examine not only the inquiries of National Assembly members but also the responses and future measures from government ministries and audited institutions. The company intends to play a significant role in public discourse to ensure that regional development tasks raised during the audit do not end as one-time criticisms but lead to practical changes and growth in local communities.

“The National Assembly audit is an important opportunity to elevate core regional issues to the level of policy tasks for the central government,” said Sim Ji-hun, head of the news bureau at LG HelloVision. “Through this project, we will fulfill the fundamental role of local media so that the customized regional policy alternatives discussed at the audit can provide practical help to the lives of residents.”
