Miryang country home offers 70 beehives and beekeeping lessons for 251 million won
MBC’s Where Is My Home toured three properties in Miryang, including a country home with 70 beehives and a 150-year-old traditional house. Yang Se-chan and Kim Dae-ho also visited the seventh Grand Alien Festival.
A country home in Miryang priced at around 250 million won comes with 70 beehives and an offer from its owner to teach the buyer beekeeping, as featured on MBC’s Where Is My Home.
The property was one of three visited by Yang Se-chan and Kim Dae-ho in episode 369, which aired on Thursday the 15th. The Miryang edition explored distinctive homes in a city the program presented as a favorite destination for second homes in Gyeongsang Province. The episode was directed by Jeong Da-hui, Nam Yu-jeong, Jang Hyo-jong and Kim Yu-jin.
The first property, in Sotae-ri, Cheongdo-myeon, was introduced as a country home in the 200,000,000-won price range, with an asking price of 251 million won. It has approximately 86 square meters of total floor area on about 998 square meters of land.
Kiwis and pomegranates grew in the garden, while carp and sturgeon swam in a pond. A backyard vegetable patch, Taichu sweet persimmons and wild grapes were also included with the property.
The apiary, with its 70 hives, surprised those on the program: it was the first time Where Is My Home had featured a property with a beekeeping operation included as standard. The owner said beekeeping provided pocket money and would personally pass on the necessary skills to the buyer upon the sale.
Yang Se-chan and Kim Dae-ho also visited the seventh Grand Alien Festival in Gyo-dong, Miryang. The festival began after constellations were discovered in ancient tomb murals in Miryang in the early 2000s, with an imagined story that aliens had descended on the city 600 years earlier. Its theme depicts aliens living alongside humans.
The pair dressed as aliens in the alien cosplay zone and took part in “UFO Destruction Operation,” competing to burst the opposing team’s UFO gourd first.
Their next property was a country home in Danjang-ri, Danjang-myeon, described as offering convenient access to nearby cities including Busan, Daegu and Ulsan. Its yard was filled with flowers and fruit trees, and a separate tearoom offered space to enjoy music over tea. Inside, white finishes and wood created a Provence-style interior.
The home was listed at 470 million won, with 197 square meters of total floor area on a 729-square-meter plot.
The final stop was a 150-year-old traditional Korean house in Geumcheon-ri, Sanoe-myeon. Directly in front of Miryang IC and a 13-minute drive from Miryang Station, it was presented as an auspicious site with mountains behind and water in front, surrounded by Hwajisan and Danjangcheon.
The house had been remodeled five to six years earlier while retaining its original appearance. It included a main house, a separate annex and a yard of more than 300 pyeong, filled with fruit trees including persimmon, apple, pomegranate, fig, jujube and apricot.
The program presented the property as ideal for people based in cities in the Yeongnam region seeking to spend five days in the city and two in the countryside. Its asking price was 770 million won, with approximately 116 square meters of total floor area on about 1,172 square meters of land.
The next episode of MBC’s Where Is My Home will air next Thursday at 10 p.m.
