MovieBloc to Hold Special Exhibition for Director Yu Da-hee, Featuring 7 Short Films

Independent and short film platform MovieBloc will hold an online director's exhibition titled 'Moments I Want to Reach Out to Again' from September 8 to 21, highlighting the cinematic world of director Yu Da-hee. This special exhibition is the second individual director's exhibition presented by MovieBloc, and Director Yu participated directly in the selection and composition of the screening works, weaving seven short films into a single worldview.

The screening works cover a wide range of genres, from psychological thrillers to experimental films. A total of seven films, including 'Threshold Autopsy' which deals with a disappearance case, as well as 'There is No Hero', 'If', 'Early Summer', 'How to Treat a Jellyfish', 'Aka', and 'Tomato Tomato', will meet the audience. Each work delves into the complex psychology of the characters based on common emotions of regret, longing, and belated understanding.

Director Yu Da-hee expressed her thoughts, saying, "I have never stood a character in front of the camera having fully understood them. It is closer to a record of trying to catch up with them belatedly. I hope that for the audience, even if it is a step late, at least one moment they want to reach out to comes to mind." In that it provides a venue where a director can fully unfold their own cinematic world within the platform, it is expected to be a meaningful channel for independent film creators.

MovieBloc plans to continue holding individual director's exhibitions in the future to expand opportunities for independent film directors to introduce their cinematic worlds to the public.
