Professor Jung Da-in Publishes Creative Guidebook ‘Storytelling Ideation Strategies’

Professor Jung Da-in, a former game scenario planner, has published ‘Storytelling Ideation Strategies,’ a practical guidebook for cultural content creators. Published by Kkotgil Publishing, this book contains specific methodologies for building original IPs in various fields such as web novels, webtoons, movies, and animations.

Based on her experience in field practice and teaching on the university podium, author Jung has synthesized narrative theory and ideation strategies. She emphasizes that the essence of creation lies not in grand fantasies but in connection with daily life and reality, and she presents a way of thinking to convert vast knowledge—such as myth, philosophy, and the latest science and technology—into content.

The new book, consisting of 19 chapters, covers the entire creative process, from character design to world-building, ideation methods in the AI era, and transmedia strategies. In particular, she emphasized the importance of characters with deficiencies and narrative tension through the combination of different genres. The book is 164 pages long and is priced at 18,000 won.
