SBS Curious Story Y to air unreleased X-Files for 800th episode
To celebrate its 800th episode, SBS Curious Story Y will feature unreleased footage and a special mission where storyteller Kim Suk-hoon attempts to find viewers watching the program live.
To celebrate its 800th episode on Friday, October 23, SBS Curious Story Y will reveal unreleased X-Files, including behind-the-scenes coverage of a prime suspect in the Gangjin elementary school serial disappearance case. Storyteller Kim Suk-hoon will also attempt a mission to find and visit the homes of viewers watching the program live.
Curious Story Y, which has posed numerous questions to South Korea every Friday night, has finally reached its 800th episode.
For 17 years since 2009, the production team has tracked the truth behind countless incidents and accidents through 799 Fridays. To mark this significant milestone, actor Kim Suk-hoon, who meets viewers every week as a storyteller, will attempt an unprecedented mission by visiting the homes of viewers watching the program live. Additionally, the episode will reveal the hidden blood, sweat, and tears of the production team that travels the country every week, along with "unreleased X-Files" that have not seen the light of day for various reasons.
"I've never received this kind of treatment in my life... I've always been a welcomed person. But I've never encountered a situation like this," remarked Kim Suk-hoon.
On Friday night, October 9, just minutes before the broadcast begins, the "Y uncle" heads out to the streets with a racing heart. He is attempting a mission to find and raid the homes of viewers currently watching Curious Story Y. However, the mission faces difficulties from the start as he encounters houses with no response, doors that won't open, or homes watching other broadcasts. Facing an embarrassing situation he has not experienced in nearly 30 years of broadcasting, Kim Suk-hoon grows increasingly anxious. Will he be able to meet a "true fan" actually watching the broadcast right before it starts and succeed in his mission?
“A corner called 'Questions for Curious Story Y'! I was also very curious about these things,” said announcer Jung Mi-sun.
Meanwhile, a special segment will be held where announcer Jung Mi-sun, another storyteller, directly answers questions that viewers have truly wondered about regarding the program. As the secrets behind how Curious Story Y finds unique stories and the hidden hard work of the production team are revealed, the unreleased X-Files that have been sleeping deep within the production team's external hard drives will finally be unveiled. These include extraordinary stories that could not be broadcast despite numerous reports and meetings. Furthermore, the episode will reveal chilling behind-the-scenes coverage involving a prime suspect in the Gangjin elementary school serial disappearance case, which the program has persistently tracked from seven years ago until recently. On Friday the 23rd at 8:50 PM, SBS Curious Story Y will first reveal Kim Suk-hoon's precarious mission to find viewers and the hidden stories of the program for its 800th episode.
