Son Dam-bi denies using weight loss injection after social media comment
Singer Son Dam-bi responded to a social media commenter who suggested her weight loss was due to the prescription injection Mounjaro, asserting that her results came from consistent effort.
Singer Son Dam-bi refuted claims that she used the prescription injection Mounjaro to lose weight, attributing her transformation to diet and exercise following the birth of her daughter, Hae-i, last April.
According to media reports, singer Son Dam-bi uploaded a video to her social media titled "3 habits for regaining my body after childbirth." In the video, she introduced her body management methods as moving consistently even if briefly, maintaining a 16-hour fast, and enjoying desired foods in moderation.
One comment on the video read, "I'll vote for Mounjaro... the healthy look is a bit lacking." In response to the comment mentioning Mounjaro, a prescription injection used for weight loss, Son Dam-bi replied, "I lost weight through consistent exercise and diet management. I wish you wouldn't easily judge someone else's efforts."
The commenter subsequently apologized, stating, "I am sorry. It is my personal preference, but because I like the healthy-looking Dam-bi, I wrote recklessly without realizing. I think I misunderstood." Son Dam-bi replied, "It's okay. When you lose a lot of weight after having a baby, muscles don't build well even if you exercise a lot. It hasn't been that long since I had the baby. I will try harder," noting that building muscle is difficult following childbirth.
Son Dam-bi married former national speed skater Lee Kyou-hyuk in 2022. She gave birth to her daughter, Hae-i, in April last year.
