The Seongbuk Invincible Youth Film Festival is a short film competition festival that discovers and supports young filmmakers in Korea. This year's call for entries proved high interest with a total of 1,135 works submitted, and after intense preliminary screening, the final 46 works were selected as finalists. The selected works will meet audiences during the festival period.

For this year's main jury, director and actress Ryu Hyun-kyung, actor Lee Joo-seung, and programmer Jo Ji-hoon have been appointed to judge the works of emerging directors based on their respective perspectives and expertise.

This year's festival proceeds under the slogan ‘Shorts, Shot, Shoot’. It captures the stages young filmmakers take toward their dreams through ‘Shorts’ (meaning short films), ‘Shot’ (the most basic unit of a film), and ‘Shoot’ (the process of moving thoughts and perspectives into a film).

In particular, this year draws attention as various participatory side events are prepared during the weekend of the festival (Saturday, November 7 – Sunday, November 8) for both filmmakers and general citizens to enjoy. Unique programs such as the food market ‘Youth Rest Stop’ filled with rest stop delicacies, a ‘Goods Market’ featuring famous film distributors, and the ‘Outdoor Silent Screening’ where audiences watch films wearing wireless headphones will welcome visitors. Additionally, special exhibitions such as the ‘Jang Yo-hoon Actor Retrospective’ and ‘Jo Hee-young Director Retrospective’, prepared for cinephiles who love movies, are also garnering anticipation.

Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, “The Seongbuk Invincible Youth Film Festival is a precious stage that cheers for the dreams and passion of young filmmakers and a festival that opens a bright future for local culture. We will continue to provide unsparing support so that the festival can grow steadily as a reliable stepping stone for young artists.”

All screenings for the 6th Seongbuk Invincible Youth Film Festival are free to watch, and detailed information such as the screening schedule can be found on the official website (www.sbff.co.kr).
