Chuni Park Solo Exhibition ‘無限花序’ Opens on the 19th… Capturing the Contemplative Landscapes of Ink

Artist Chuni Park's solo exhibition ‘無限花序’ (Infinite Inflorescence) will be held from September 19 to December 20 at the entire Hanju Art Space in Paju, Gyeonggi-do. The exhibition title, ‘無限花序’, meaning 'inflorescence', refers to the order in which flowers bloom from bottom to top and from outside to inside. Starting with the ‘East Wind Exhibition’ presented at Gwanhun Gallery in Insadong 25 years ago, the artist has moved through experimental ink and sketching ink to recently build a world of contemplative ink that captures inner landscapes. This exhibition will take place throughout the 3.5th and 4th floors and will welcome visitors every day from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM.

Director Jeong Hyeong-tak of Hanju Art Space explained that this exhibition is composed mainly of the artist's recent works. In the exhibition, one can encounter contemplative landscapes such as ‘Archipelago’, which restrains coloring and emphasizes the depth of ink, ‘Contemplation on the Road’, where chairs symbolizing silence and existence are placed, and ‘Forest of Blooming Mountain Cherry Trees’. Director Jeong stated that ‘無限花序’ means there is no limit to growth as long as the roots and stems are alive, and that the flowers endlessly blooming in the artist's works are the result of life and the artist being osmotically merged. The artist's world of work has changed through the flow of experiment, sketching, and contemplation, but it possesses a unique domain that is difficult to define with a specific language or classification method.

Born in 1966, Chuni Park majored in Oriental Painting at Hongik University and its graduate school, and is a mid-career artist who has held about 50 solo exhibitions both domestically and internationally. He has participated in numerous curated exhibitions, including an exhibition at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea in 2003, the Venice Biennale Special Exhibition, the Jeonnam International SUMUK Biennale, and LA Art Show 2026. Furthermore, he has continued residency activities in Jeju, Australia, Paris, and the United States, and his works are held in the collections of major institutions such as the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, Seoul Museum of Art, Busan Museum of Art, and Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art. This exhibition is held at Hanju Art Space located at 145 Beontteugi-gil, Paju.
