‘Dive into You’ Episode 8 to Reveal the Secret That Split Lovers After a Kiss in the Rain
Episode 8 of the drama Dive into You is set to explain why Yoon Ha-na and Jeong Woo-jae, lovers in 2013, are distant in 2026. It follows a cliffhanger in episode 7 in which a time slip returned Yoon Ha-na to a cold Jeong Woo-jae.
Episode 8 of the drama Dive into You is set to reveal the past that drove Yoon Ha-na (Kim Ji-yeon) and Jeong Woo-jae (Park Seo-ham) apart. They were sweethearts in 2013 but treat each other coldly in 2026. According to the drama's promotional material, the episode links their changed attitudes to events of the past.
A farewell after the accident
Episode 7 ended with a sudden time slip that swapped Yoon Ha-na's body with someone else's and left her facing a Jeong Woo-jae who had turned cold. Earlier in that episode, while preparing to shoot, she urged him not to become a bodyguard. When he said his dream was to protect her, she looked sad. A lighting rig then fell, and Jeong Woo-jae was injured again while trying to shield her. After that, Yoon Ha-na decided to leave his side. The episode thus shows why she wanted to go even after they became a couple.
Before that, the pair were shooting the short film as a couple. When sudden rain halted filming, they kissed. A man in a raincoat appeared and dropped a camcorder presumed to be Yoon Ha-na's. Seeing it fall, she sensed a time slip was coming and said goodbye to Jeong Woo-jae in tears. Nothing happened right away, and she tried to reassure him, as he had no idea what was going on.
How they became a couple
The road to that kiss began when Yoon Ha-na went back to 2013 to steer Jeong Woo-jae toward acting. While the two practiced playing lovers, he confessed to her again and took the male lead in the short film she starred in. As they prepared for filming, they spent time together, and he promised, "I'm sorry I kept you waiting so long. I won't ever make you wait again. Never." They kissed in the rain and became a couple. The 13-year shift in their relationship that episode 8 will reveal follows from this romance.
Their romance began with a long period in which neither could easily express their feelings. According to the episode synopsis, Yoon Ha-na and Jeong Woo-jae liked each other in their original lives but never made the first move. When Jeong Woo-jae had to quit judo with a shoulder injury, Yoon Ha-na comforted him by saying, "Protect me." The words led him to dream of becoming a bodyguard and to set the goal of protecting her. They became a link between the two and later prompted him to express his feelings.
After the time slip, Yoon Ha-na swapped bodies with her twin brother, Yoon Ha-ru (Jang Se-hyeok). Jeong Woo-jae, who was close friends with Yoon Ha-ru, saw Yoon Ha-na in him and confessed to her to check his own feelings. The two were high school seniors with important matters ahead, so they chose to focus on those rather than move forward at once. Jeong Woo-jae said, "After I make the national team and you get into the university you want, I'll confess properly again." The episode presented the promise as a moment in which the two look toward a shared future.
Careers and a body swap in the present
The two timelines differ in their acting careers as well. In 2026, Jeong Woo-jae has become the impressive actor Yoon Ha-na hoped he would be. She, by contrast, once won a best actress award and drew public attention, but her standing is portrayed as far smaller than before. The drama sets scenes of Jeong Woo-jae looking after her on a film set, and of the two eating together in a share house living room, against their cold meeting in the present. Episode 8 is expected to show what happened between that affection and today's distance.
According to the drama's material, Yoon Ha-na is brought back from 2013 to 2026 suddenly because of Lee Hyeong-won (Kim Han-yeong). The 13 years she missed have changed both their lives. In the past, Jeong Woo-jae studied her with worried eyes and laughed over meals with her; in the present, his manner has turned icy. Yoon Ha-na is also confused by the abrupt change of surroundings, and the body swap with her twin brother Yoon Ha-ru adds a problem she must resolve. Earlier episode synopses described this as a new hurdle for her.
Episode 8 of Dive into You streams on Disney+ on the 18th and airs on Channel A at 10:30 p.m. the same day.
