Gugak Prodigy Kim A-rin Wins Grand Prize in Pansori Elementary Division at the 15th Jangwol Jungseon Master Singer Competition

Kim A-rin, a fifth-grade student at Busan Namcheon Elementary School, won the Grand Prize, the Gyeongsangbuk-do Superintendent of Education Award, in the Pansori Elementary Division at the 15th Pansori Master Family Jangwol Jungseon Master Singer Competition held on September 5 at the Yukbuchon auditorium in Bomun-ro, Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do. During this competition, Kim sang a passage of the Pansori 'Simcheongga' with great passion, receiving the highest score from the judges.

Having entered the world of Gugak through Sijo-chang, Kim switched to Pansori in July 2024 and has reached the top of a national-scale competition within two years. She is scheduled to hold her first solo recital, performing the full version of Park Rok-ju's 'Heungboga', at 2 PM on November 21 at the Suyeong-gu Library auditorium in Busan.

Meanwhile, this competition, hosted by Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gyeongju-si and organized by the Gyeongsangbuk-do branch of the Korea Pansori Preservation Society, was held from September 5 to 6 in the Gyeongju Bomun Tourist Complex area, divided into Pansori, Gayageum, Minyo, and percussion categories.
