The 4th Gwangmyeong Cave Light Festival will offer drone light shows, performances and hands-on activities for families around Gwangmyeong Cave on Oct. 16–17, with original character Bo the Head Gardener appearing in media content along the visitor route.

Immersive content company One DSB announced that its character will feature at three locations, beginning at the parking lot’s grassy area, continuing along the approach road and reaching the large LED screen on the main stage.

This year’s participatory festival has the theme “Forest of Light, Life Awakens.” It is designed to bring residents and visitors together to enjoy and take part in varied content in a setting combining light and life.

The program includes an opening ceremony, drone light shows and a range of performances, alongside hands-on activities, exhibitions and a market. The grounds will have a main stage, media content, activity booths, environmental campaign booths, rest areas and a food zone.

Drawing on the distinctive spaces of Gwangmyeong Cave, the festival combines light-based attractions, performances and activities intended to encourage visitors to consider the value of nature and the environment while enjoying the event.

An animation on the main stage’s large LED screen reimagines the historical background of Gwangmyeong Cave as a fairy tale. It follows Bo the Head Gardener and Ttaji as they venture into the cave in search of the “Seed of Life.” Created for families to enjoy together, the animation gives sensory expression to Gwangmyeong City’s policy values of carbon neutrality and sustainable development.

Gwangmyeong Cave characters Aisha, Kuo, Rim and Kang Kang also appear in the media content and meet Bo the Head Gardener.

One DSB created Bo the Head Gardener as an original character property using an AI character creation pipeline. The character’s distinctive story involves planting and growing seeds on the head. Bo the Head Gardener has reached audiences online, including through social media, and at in-person events such as the Cheorwon Everywhere Festival.

One DSB said the story of Bo the Head Gardener, who carries seeds on the head and sets out through a forest of light to find the “Seed of Life,” naturally connects with the festival’s theme. The company said it hopes families will experience Gwangmyeong Cave in a new way with the character and enjoy reflecting on the value of nature and the environment.

The company describes its immersive content work as grounded in narrative, immersion and character properties. It plans and produces media facades, media art and interactive games that connect spaces with audiences. Recently, it presented an immersive media facade using a 600-year-old fortress as its setting at the 2026 Seosan Haemieupseong Festival.

One DSB also says it plans and produces original media art across projection mapping, media facades, performance video production and media interiors. Its focus extends beyond video production to providing distinctive experiences through hardware and software solutions. Its main operations include video production, operation and video equipment installation, with activity centered on culture, performance and the arts.

The company says it draws on expertise and technical capabilities developed through various projects to provide media art solutions tailored to commercial spaces, public places and performance venues, seeking to create new value in those settings.
