This performance is prepared as a stage to look back on one's own memories and recollections through the music that has accompanied every moment of our lives. Through a wide-ranging program from authentic wind repertoire to film music, pop, and Korean popular music, the grand sound and diverse musical charm of the wind orchestra will be showcased.
This performance, conducted by Kim Dae-nam (Chief Professor of G.F.I. Orchestral Music at Soongsil University), will open with Robert W. Smith's ‘Rising Dragons’. This will be followed by Ralph Vaughan Williams' ‘Tuba Concerto in F minor’, featuring a collaboration with tuba player Lee Yo-han (Principal Tuba of Cheongju City Philharmonic Orchestra).
Following this, film music and pop repertoires, including excerpts from J. de Meij's ‘The Lord of the Rings’, ‘Coldplay in Symphony’, and ‘Adele 21’, will take the stage.
Furthermore, the music of the late Kim Kwang-seok will be presented through the ‘Kim Kwang-seok Medley’, and songs containing Korean sentiments and various musical colors will be interpreted through the colors of the wind orchestra via ‘Korean Sound Collection V & VII’.
Since its founding in 2023, the Gyeonggi Symphonic Wind Orchestra has continued various activities such as regular concerts, indoor and outdoor concerts, and visiting concerts. Through a repertoire that spans genres including authentic classical, film music, pop, popular music, and Korean traditional music, the orchestra is promoting the charm and possibilities of wind music and is steadily conducting research and performance activities for the development and revitalization of wind music in Korea.
This performance is a stage that can be enjoyed not only by classical music enthusiasts but also by any audience who loves film music, pop, and Korean popular music, and it is expected to be a time to reflect on the memories and emotions residing in one's own life through music.
The 5th regular concert of the Gyeonggi Symphonic Wind Orchestra is hosted by the Gyeonggi Symphonic Wind Orchestra, organized by Lead Arts Planning, and supported by Haemil.
