Jung Yeon-woo on Woo Seo-yoon's Plastic Surgery Allegations: "Not Worth Answering"

Jung Yeon-woo, the 2025 Miss Korea winner, expressed her thoughts regarding the plastic surgery controversy surrounding Miss Korea contestants.

On the 28th, Jung Yeon-woo took time to answer netizens' questions through her personal account. She began by saying, "I am cautiously bringing this up because I have watched countless instances of people hurting others with rude and worthless words," adding, "I think the most frequent topic I've heard while participating in Miss Korea is related to plastic surgery. Regarding her own plastic surgery, Jung Yeon-woo stated, "I did not have plastic surgery, but I have had various procedures," and added, "I am more curious as to why people are so interested in whether others have had plastic surgery." She emphasized, "Does one's value increase if they are a natural beauty and decrease if they are not? A person's value is not something that someone can arbitrarily assign."

She also explained the Miss Korea judging process, saying, "It is not a competition judged solely on appearance," and "Various evaluations such as interviews, current affairs presentations, and self-introductions are conducted." She continued, "It is bitter that the reality of plastic surgery being the biggest controversy every year feels like it devalues the contestants' efforts and the essence of the competition," and pointed out, "It is pitiful to see the perspective of people who scrutinize others' faces one by one to find changes, and who act rudely toward others while trapped in narrow-minded thinking without feeling any shame."

Jung Yeon-woo's remarks are gaining attention as they coincide with the plastic surgery allegations surrounding Woo Seo-yoon, who was recently selected as the 2026 Miss Korea winner. Woo Seo-yoon rose to the final 1st place 'Jin' after beating 26 candidates at the 70th Miss Korea pageant held on the 22nd. Woo Seo-yoon, the eldest daughter of former basketball player Woo Ji-Won, appeared on SBS 'Star Junior Show' in her childhood and appeared on tvN STORY and E Channel's 'When Our Kids Fall in Love' Season 2 this year.
