According to media reports, director Park Hoon-jung's new film 'Tristes Tropiques' has released 12 production stills capturing the confrontations between characters and jungle action. The film is set to open on November 25.
The story follows a group of killer organization members who suspect one another and vow revenge after the death of their absolute leader, Sabu. The film stars Lee Shin-young, Park Yu-rim, Kim Myung-min, Park Hae-soo, Lin Bo-hong, Chen Yi-wen, and Wang Po-chieh. It is directed by Park Hoon-jung, who previously presented noir worlds through 'New World' and 'The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion' series.
In the released photos, Kim Myung-min, playing the role of Sabu, is seen in field clothing holding a weapon. Despite appearing with white hair due to the passage of time, he maintains an air of charisma and composure. Lee Shin-young plays the youngest member, Ru, who detects enemy movements through minute vibrations of sound. Jojo, played by Park Yu-rim, is a character who throws the organization into chaos following Sabu's death; scenes of her aiming a gun and Ru being trapped in a transport vehicle illustrate the crisis facing the two.
Within the Brotherhood, which has formed an independent force, Park Hae-soo appears as the boss Jang and Lin Bo-hong appears as the second-in-command Rain. Jang, the spiritual pillar of the brothers, observes the situation, while Rain holds a special affection for the youngest, Ru. The sharp expressions of the two in the released stills reveal the conflict between the organizations.
Chen Yi-wen plays Old Man Peng, a business partner who co-founded the organization with Sabu and serves as the general manager. Wang Po-chieh appears as Na Ja-ryang, the new boss of Chinatown who uses any means necessary to gain power. A group of unidentified people in white masks also appears. A scene showing a bloodied Ru swinging a machete captures the action for survival.
