The SBS special project 'Future Report' will meet viewers on Wednesday the 2nd at 10:50 PM. In this first episode, 'Energy and Money,' the program will provide an in-depth look at the energy investment strategies being watched by global big tech leaders and billionaires.

Billionaires' Energy Betting

The broadcast will focus on the moves of Microsoft founder Bill Gates and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Bill Gates has established a next-generation nuclear power company and is constructing a reactor in the town of Kemmerer, Wyoming, USA, having invested approximately 1.39 trillion KRW in related projects. Sam Altman is also betting his life on the nuclear power business, including plans to list the next-generation nuclear power company he founded on the New York Stock Exchange and injecting approximately 1.6 trillion KRW.

Future Cities and Small Modular Reactors (SMR)

To respond to the surge in power demand caused by technological advancements, Small Modular Reactors (SMR) are drawing attention as a next-generation carbon-free power source. SMRs have significantly reduced size compared to existing large-scale nuclear power plants to increase safety and allow for cost reduction by shortening the construction period to 3–4 years. Meanwhile, the broadcast will examine the correlation between future transportation systems and energy through the case of 'Woven City,' a smart city in which Japan's Toyota has invested approximately 10 billion USD (over 10 trillion KRW).

In this broadcast, energy expert Kim Hyung-dae, a professor of nuclear engineering at Kyung Hee University, and investment expert Kim Nam-ho, head of the ETF management division at Timefolio Asset Management, will appear to present investment strategies.
