The Seoul Metropolitan Youth Center and SM Entertainment held the 'SM Youth Job Mentoring' event at the SM headquarters on the 27th as part of the '2026 Seoul Youth Allowance Growth Support Program.'

Professionals in 8 fields serve as mentors
The event began with icebreaking and company introductions, followed by job mentoring from professionals in 8 fields. In the mentoring sessions, practitioners in the fields of Classical/Jazz A&R, General Affairs, MD Planning/Production, Organizational Culture, Project Management, Actor Management, Public Relations, and Artist Management stepped up as mentors to share field stories.
Impressions from participants and mentors
One mentee who participated in the event said that hearing specific advice from entertainment practitioners, which is usually difficult to access, helped in determining their career direction. They also added that they were able to deeply understand job roles they previously only knew vaguely through the vivid experiences of current professionals.
The professionals who participated as mentors expressed that they felt rewarded by seeing the participants sincerely empathize, take notes, and listen attentively, and they shared that seeing the passion of the youth allowed them to reflect on themselves and gain new stimulation.
The purpose stated by the center director
Shin So-mi, director of the Seoul Metropolitan Youth Center, said, "We hope that the vivid experiences and advice from professionals at SM, a representative entertainment company in Korea, will serve as a practical guide for young people preparing to enter the entertainment industry," and added, "We will continue to actively expand customized growth support programs that reflect the diverse industrial and job demands of young people."
Meanwhile, the Seoul Metropolitan Youth Center is an organization launched in 2024 through the integration of the 'Seoul Metropolitan Youth Activity Support Center' and 'Youth Hub,' and it serves as a control tower for 16 local youth centers while operating customized programs such as the Youth Allowance and the Seoul Youth Mental Health Support Project.
