MBC special project 'The Country I Want' will be broadcast twice on the 28th through MBC FM4U in the morning and MBC Standard FM in the afternoon.

According to MBC Radio, it is scheduled for 20 minutes from 8:35 AM to 8:55 AM on FM4U (91.9Mhz in Seoul/Metropolitan area) and from 7:35 PM to 7:55 PM on MBC Standard FM (95.9Mhz in Seoul/Metropolitan area).

UNESCO Designated 'Year of Commemorating Kim Gu'

In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Baekbeom Kim Gu, UNESCO has designated this year as the 'Year of Commemorating Kim Gu'. This special features the 'My Wish' section, specifically the 'The Country I Want' part, from the 『Baekbeom Ilji』 written by Baekbeom Kim Gu. It is a text widely known for the sentence, "The only thing I want to possess boundlessly is the power of a high culture."

Bae Cheol-soo, Son Seokhee, and Lee Moon-sae Meet Baekbeom's Writing Through Their Voices

In this special, MBC Radio's flagship DJs 'Bae Cheol-soo, Son Seokhee, and Lee Moon-sae' will participate to share and read Kim Gu's writings with their respective voices. Lee Moon-sae will read "The only thing I want to possess boundlessly is the power of a high culture," Son Seokhee will read "Such a country would not be able to be unhappy even if it tried to be unhappy, and would not be able to perish even if it tried to perish," and Bae Cheol-soo will read "Is it not visible before our eyes that the day our nation appears on the world stage as the main actors is approaching?"

Another point of interest is the voice of Baekbeom Kim Gu, which has been restored using SK Telecom's AI technology. The composition features the AI-implemented voice of Kim Gu and representative DJs of the Republic of Korea reading a single text together across time and space. Musician Kim Dong-hyuk, who has participated as various drama music directors, served as the music director to complete this 20-minute audio documentary.

The production team stated, "It will be an opportunity to meet the dream of Baekbeom, who hoped for a beautiful cultural nation, through the voices of MBC Radio's proud DJs Bae Cheol-soo, Son Seokhee, and Lee Moon-sae," and added, "With the music and various sound effects harmonized with Baekbeom Kim Gu's writings, it will be an emotional experience for adults and educational content for children."

MBC FM4U and MBC Standard FM can be heard via radio frequencies 91.9Mhz and 95.9Mhz respectively (based on Seoul/Gyeonggi area) and through the internet radio Mini application.
