Baritone Ahn Dae-hyun will hold the fourth ‘Liederabend Series’ at the Seoul Arts Center Recital Hall on September 17 at 7:30 PM. In this performance, he will perform the complete Schubert song cycle ‘Die schöne Müllerin’ D.795, accompanied by pianist Kim Eun-jin.

Set to the poems of Wilhelm Müller, this work captures the emotional changes experienced by a young journeyman miller who falls in love, expressed through 20 lyric poems. It unfolds like a drama, moving from the young man's excitement and anticipation to the jealousy, anxiety, and tragic conclusion caused by the appearance of a hunter. It is a work that concentrates Schubert's unique lyricism, which closely connects nature with the human interior.

Cast and Performance Information

Baritone Ahn Dae-hyun graduated from Yonsei University and studied at the Staats대학교 Dresden and the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart in Germany. He has won numerous awards on international stages, including 2nd prize at the Munich Vocalgenial International Competition, and is actively performing in opera and oratorio fields both domestically and abroad. Pianist Kim Eun-jin graduated from Hanyang University and entered the advanced course at the Staats대학교 Dresden with top honors; she is expected to present an ensemble where vocal music and piano engage in close dialogue.
