Company Wooyeon will showcase its mobile performance IP 'Annals of Modern Mokpo' at the 'Munhwa Yahaeng' event from October 30 to November 1. The interactive content, which features characters from 1913, 1919, and 1932, allows audiences to follow a story through local alleys rather than sitting in fixed seats.
Company Wooyeon, a producer of performance and spatial content, will participate in 'Munhwa Yahaeng' held in the old downtown of Mokpo from October 30 to November 1, introducing regional tourism content that combines performance IP with interactive systems.
This event serves as an opportunity for Company Wooyeon to apply the production methods it has developed on-site, as a company selected for the Korea Arts Management Service '2026 Early-Stage Arts Startup Support Program.' The company has focused on designing audience experiences by combining performance IP with location-responsive interactive technology and is continuing efforts to expand this into actual regional history and spaces. The industry observes a growing trend where performance technology does not remain confined to the stage but combines with regional narratives.
The content to be introduced in the old downtown of Mokpo is the mobile performance IP 'Annals of Modern Mokpo,' which is scheduled to be performed from December 25 to 26. Developed based on the history and urban spaces of Mokpo, the work is structured so that the audience follows the story by moving through alleys and locations alongside the actors rather than sitting in fixed seats. A notable feature is the portrayal of a single character's different life stages through the appearance of a student in 1913, a worker in 1919, and a merchant in 1932.
Based on its own performance IPs such as 'Gobeullak' and 'Relic Complex,' Company Wooyeon has developed performance systems where lighting, video, and sound change according to the location and actions of the audience. The company explained that rather than prioritizing technology itself, it focuses on how the audience experiences the space.
“The content production method Company Wooyeon aims for is to turn audience actions into scenes, actors' movements into cues, and the entire space into a single interactive stage,” said CEO Yang Hae-yeon. “We intend to expand the audience experience that began in performance halls to cities and regions, creating content that allows people to experience the unique stories and spaces of each region in a new way.”
