His agency, iHQ, announced on the 27th that Dong Hyun-bae will appear in the play 'Assembled Family,' taking on the role of Jeong-sik.
'Assembled Family' tells the story of Jeong-sik, Mo-se, Hui-jeong, and Jeong-mi—all from an orphanage—who gather together during the Lunar New Year holiday. Through the process of these four individuals, each carrying different wounds, clashing and blending together, the work conveys the meaning of family beyond blood relations.
Jeong-sik, played by Dong Hyun-bae, is a character who has secured his own home through careful savings and loans, but remains closed off to forming a family with others. Dong Hyun-bae is expected to portray the character's pain and emotional shifts on stage. He has recently appeared in the musical play 'Brilliant' as well as the plays 'Pink Truck' and 'Star of Seoul.'
Through his agency, Dong Hyun-bae stated, "I am grateful to be able to meet the audience soon through a new work." He added, "Above all, I think I will be able to work joyfully as I get to work with actor Heo Gyu, whom I have always liked and respected. I am looking forward to creating this work while coordinating with the fellow actors."
'Assembled Family' will hold its first performance in Jeongeup on November 27, followed by performances at Minsong Art Hall at Semyung University in Daehak-ro, Seoul, from December 2 to December 20.
