EBS will broadcast 9 documentaries, including 'Portrait of Eva Cassidy', as part of the screening lineup for the 23rd EBS International Documentary Film Festival (EIDF2026) on the 29th (Sat).
At 2:10 PM, 'Portrait of Eva Cassidy' (Ireland, 2025, 82 min), directed by Alex Piggin and Malcolm Willis, will be broadcast. Containing unreleased music and exclusive Archive footage, this work portrays the life of singer Eva Cassidy through the eyes of her family, friends, and fellow musicians, and covers her interpretations of 'Over the Rainbow' and 'Fields of Gold'.
Documentaries Capturing Family and Community
At 3:40 PM, 'Grandmother is a Skydiver' (Germany·Ukraine, 2025, 13 min), directed by Polina Pidubna, will be broadcast. It deals with the intergenerational dialogue between Alfiya, who used a parachute in the 1960s, and her granddaughter amidst the 2022 invasion of Ukraine. At 4:00 PM, 'Derek vs. Derek' (UK, 2026, 87 min), directed by James Dawson, follows. It is a story of two neighboring farmers with the same name who clash over intensive farming versus natural permaculture. At 5:40 PM, 'The Long Way to the Meadow' (Kyrgyzstan, 2025, 23 min), directed by Ilgiz Sherniyaz Tursunbek Uulu, will be broadcast, and at 6:10 PM, 'Kindergarten' (Canada, 2025, 84 min), directed by Jean-François Kessi, will be aired. 'Kindergarten' is a documentary that captures the world of kindergarten children from ages one to five by age group.

At 7:45 PM, 'The Man Who Takes Photos of Flowers' (USA·Korea, 2025, 13 min), directed by Lee Yu, will be broadcast. It tells the story of photographer Kim Jung-myung, who has been recording Korean wildflowers for about 40 years. At 8:05 PM, 'In the Forest' (Canada, 2025, 123 min), directed by Pascal Perlan, will be broadcast, and at 10:20 PM, 'Anya Niringhaus's Headshot' (Germany, 2025, 90 min), directed by Sonja Winterberg, will be aired. 'Anya Niringhaus's Headshot' highlights the life of photojournalist Anya Niringhaus, who died in April 2014 while covering the Afghan presidential election in a conflict zone. At 12:00 AM, 'Numakage Municipal Swimming Pool' (Japan, 2025, 80 min), directed by Ota Shingo, will be broadcast, telling the story of a 52-year-old public swimming pool in the suburbs of Tokyo facing demolition.
