The Busan Film Commission will host the 2026 Film Industry Center–VIC-LAB Second-Half Networking Day on Friday the 23rd, featuring a talk concert with director Jang Hang-jun. The event includes a screening of 11 student works and a recruitment fair involving ten organizations to support the local film and video industry.
The Film Industry Center, operated by the Busan Film Commission (Chairperson Kang Seong-gyu), will hold the 2026 Film Industry Center–VIC-LAB Second-Half Networking Day on Friday the 23rd. The event will feature "Jang Hang-jun's Screenplay," a talk concert inviting director Jang Hang-jun, known for the film "The King's Warden."
The "Jang Hang-jun's Screenplay" talk concert will take place from 5:00 PM for two hours at the Film Industry Center's 11th-floor conference hall. Jang Hang-jun, who drew 16.93 million viewers with "The King's Warden," will discuss his screenwriting and directing processes, his concerns as a creator, and episodes from filming in Busan, based on pre-submitted questions from participants.
Jang previously received location support and incentives from the Busan Film Commission while filming "Rebound" (2023) in Busan, a film based on the true story of the Busan Jungang High School basketball team. This connection led to his invitation to this talk concert.
Prior to the talk concert, "First Greetings on Screen," a screening for film and video students in the Busan region, will be held at 9:00 AM in the Film Industry Center's 11th-floor screening room. The event will showcase 11 works submitted by students from Pusan National University, Dong-eui University, and Dongseo University. Outstanding works will be selected through pre-voting by Film Industry Center resident companies and on-site voting to receive support for the production of barrier-free versions.
The Dongseo University student work "Mosquitoes Do Not Fly by Flapping," which was selected as an outstanding work at last year's screening, was produced as a barrier-free version with support from the Busan Community Media Center and was screened at the 20th Disability Media Festival.
A recruitment fair for young job seekers will be held at 3:00 PM in the Film Industry Center's 11th-floor conference hall. Ten organizations will participate, including the Korean Film Council, Korea Media Rating Board, Busan Cinema Center, Busan International Film Festival, Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Dong-gu Women's Human Resources Development Center, Busan Community Media Center, Moka, Brand Us, and Cheongchun Film. The event will also provide healing programs for resident companies, as well as cover letter consulting, image making for students and job seekers, and free networking.
The 2026 Film Industry Center–VIC-LAB Networking Day is a regular event held annually in the first and second halves of the year by the Busan Film Commission and the Film Industry Center. It aims to revitalize the local film and video industry community through exchanges between Film Industry Center resident companies and local university students and professionals in film and video.
The event is jointly hosted and organized by the Busan Film Commission, the Film Industry Center, the Pusan National University Film Institute, the Dong-gu Women's Human Resources Development Center, and the Busan Community Media Center.
