The MIZY Center will host "MIZY, Meeting the World" at Vista Plaza in Seoul Children's Grand Park on Saturday, October 24, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing opportunities to experience global music and cultures.
The festival is designed to broaden understanding of different cultures through direct experience. This year, under the theme "World Music Journey Amidst Autumn Leaves," the event offers teenagers and citizens the chance to engage with various international musical and cultural traditions.
The event features experience booths representing various countries, alongside a diverse stage program including youth orchestra performances, traditional world music, short film screenings, and audience participation events. Participation is free for everyone without the need for prior registration.
The stage will showcase music and cultural arts from around the world with eight different performing teams. The opening stage will feature a youth orchestra quartet and African folk music from Burkina Faso and Benin. The afternoon program will include pan flute, accordion, and harp performances, as well as yodeling. The closing stage will feature a multicultural children's choir and a fusion performance combining music from South Korea, the Arab world, and Egypt. During stage transitions, short films themed around multiculturalism will be screened, and an MC-led audience participation event will be held.
Experience booths will allow visitors to engage directly with various global cultures.
At the "Making and Costume Experience Booths," visitors can make traditional toys and instruments and try on traditional clothing from five countries: Mexico, Lithuania, Russia, Vietnam, and Spain.
The "Instrument Experience Booths" will allow visitors to play instruments from Egypt, Indonesia, Peru, India, and Burkina Faso and Senegal. A listening zone will also be available to enjoy music from around the world.
The experience booths and listening zone will operate from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and visitors are free to participate in any programs of interest.
Various on-site events will also be held for festival visitors.
In addition to the booths, several events will take place, including a stamp tour where participants collect stamps from at least five booths, a MIZY Center YouTube subscription verification event, and a photo zone verification event. Souvenirs will be provided based on available quantities, and specific operational details may change depending on on-site conditions.
The festival was organized to allow citizens to come closer to various global cultures through music and experience, thereby expanding interest and understanding of different cultures. Children, teenagers, and families are all welcome to participate freely and experience global music and cultural arts.
The MIZY Center stated that the festival was prepared to help citizens get closer to various national cultures and broaden their understanding of different cultures through music and cultural experiences, expressing hope that it will be a time to share respect for each other's cultures while enjoying various performances and experiences.
