Outback Opens New Store at Shinsegae Uijeongbu... First Local Expansion in 20 Years
Outback Steakhouse has opened a new location at the Shinsegae Department Store in Uijeongbu, marking its first return to the region in approximately 20 years.
Outback Steakhouse has opened a new store in the Uijeongbu area for the first time in about 20 years since the Uijeongbu Geumo branch. The ‘Uijeongbu Shinsegae branch,’ which opened on the 3rd, is located on the 9th floor of the Shinsegae Department Store connected to Uijeongbu Station. As it is located in a complex commercial district with excellent transportation accessibility, the strategy is to absorb a wide range of customers, from family visitors to the 2030 generation.
The store interior applies the ‘Journey Moments’ concept themed around an Australian road trip. At the entrance, a structure shaped like the Sydney Harbour Bridge is installed, and an art wall inspired by Australia's Uluru is placed inside. The space, created with a total capacity of 179 seats, has increased user convenience by appropriately arranging sofa-type seating and round tables.
This expansion is interpreted as reflecting Outback's intention to target the dining demand in the northern Gyeonggi region. By utilizing the locational advantage of being located within a department store, it is expected to effectively attract floating populations such as shoppers and moviegoers.
An Outback official stated, “Reflecting the changing characteristics of the commercial district, we have implemented a differentiated space containing Australian sensibility,” and added, “It will establish itself as a representative dining landmark in northern Gyeonggi.”
