Rare-On, a specialized TCG platform, has signed an official license agreement for the new series 'GO ASTRO BOY GO!' (Korean title: Little Atom), a new series of the symbol of Japanese animation 'Astro Boy,' and plans to present TCG cards and collectible card products using this IP.

'GO ASTRO BOY GO!' is a new animation produced by Tezuka Productions to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Astro Boy's birth, based on the original 'Astro Boy' manga released by the master of Japanese manga, Osamu Tezuka, in the 1950s. The original manga, serialized from 1952, and 'Astro Boy,' which aired as Japan's first 30-minute TV animation series in 1963, is an IP that has been loved across generations and broadcast in countries around the world, including the United States, China, and Europe.

The new 'GO ASTRO BOY GO!' is characterized by a bold reinterpretation aimed at children while maintaining the essence of the original work. Unlike the original Astro Boy who fought villains, Little Atom teams up with the AI robot cat 'Astro Kitty' and the genius girl 'Suzu' to solve problems around the world, such as environmental crises and natural phenomena, using his superpowers to save people and nature. While inheriting the message of 'coexistence with all living things and consideration for others and nature' that Osamu Tezuka embedded in his works, it was planned as edutainment content containing the values of cooperation, curiosity, and problem-solving.

'GO ASTRO BOY GO!' has already proven its IP power in China. During the opening of the Ningbo Yincheng Shopping Mall in December 2020, it was used as the main IP, recording more than 396,000 visitors and over 70,000 membership sign-ups during the first three days of opening, and expanded into campaigns across the city including pop-up stores, large-scale installations, and subway/bus advertisements. In Japan, a programming education platform 'Astro Coding Go!' using the Little Atom characters is under production.

Through this agreement, Rare-On plans to plan, produce, and sell TCG card collections for collectors based on the official license of 'GO ASTRO BOY GO!'. In particular, this project focuses on developing 'collectible content with collection value' by going beyond simple character goods to capture Astro Boy's history and worldview, major characters such as Little Atom, Astro Kitty, and Suzu, and various artworks on the cards.

Rare-On has been creating a new collection culture that combines sports and TCG by developing official collectible card businesses using sports stars such as Brazilian football legends Roberto Carlos and Edmílson, and South Korean national team legends Hur Jae, Hyun Jung-hwa, and Lee Yong-dae. With this 'GO ASTRO BOY GO!' IP agreement, Rare-On plans to 본격적으로 (fully) expand its IP territory into the animation, character, and cultural content fields, moving away from a sports-centered IP portfolio.

Rare-On CEO Hwang Hyun-ki stated, "Astro Boy is an iconic IP loved worldwide across generations, and since 'GO ASTRO BOY GO!' is a new work that reconnects that spirit to today's children and collectors, we expect it to create high synergy with the collectible culture pursued by Rare-On. Beyond simply putting characters on cards, we will implement it as a single collection that collectors want to possess, embodying Astro Boy's unique history, story, and artwork."

Rare-On is an IP-based collectible commerce platform presented by PUNKVISM. It develops a new IP business that connects fans and brands by reinterpreting the intellectual property (IP) and portrait rights held by artists, sports stars, and global brands into limited edition collectibles. Using blockchain technology to guarantee authenticity, anyone can safely own and trade collectibles, and it has expanded the value of IP through collaborations with global icons such as Roberto Carlos and Edmílson. Through various lineups including TCG cards, premium goods, and artist collections, it goes beyond simple sales to provide holder membership benefits and ecosystem contribution rewards. Rare-On is creating a new standard for collectibles that connects IP and fandom.
