Eight new stills have been released for the film 'Ugly Duckling Ms. Maeng', which follows a teacher's struggle to create College Scholastic Ability Test questions during a 40-day isolation. The comedy, starring Lee Sun-bin and Yoo Jae-myung, is scheduled for release on the 28th.
According to media reports, the film 'Ugly Duckling Ms. Maeng' has released eight stills depicting the daily lives of exam committee members in observance of the 30-day countdown to the College Scholastic Ability Test. The film, which features actors including Yoo Jae-myung, Lee Sun-bin, and Kim Yeong-min, portrays the commotion occurring within the exam headquarters. The film is set to be released on the 28th.
The story follows Maeng Bo-ram (Lee Sun-bin), a Korean language teacher from a small provincial city, who enters an exam headquarters isolated from the outside world for 40 days to create questions for the College Scholastic Ability Test, a Grade 2 national secret in South Korea. Maeng Bo-ram struggles to create questions free of any typos or controversies, a process the film unfolds as a comedy.
The released scenes show Maeng Bo-ram agonizing over completing the questions. Exam committee chairman Moon Ju-yeol (Yoo Jae-myung) and philosophy professor Go Jae-bong (Kim Kyung-min) attempt to reach an agreement regarding a 'Kant' passage for the College Scholastic Ability Test. A scene showing the two sharing suspicious ginseng juice has also been released, drawing interest to the conversation between them.
Tension fills the exam meetings. Kang Ji-hye (Lee Jin-hee), a veteran committee member who has participated in the College Scholastic Ability Test five times, leads the meetings with quiet charisma. Review committee chairman Park Gyeong-tae (Kim Yeong-min) stands up to join the discussion, while KICE employee Ki Jun-su (Jeon Seok-ho) hurriedly manages the situation.
Moon Ju-yeol appears with scratches on his face, staring fiercely while holding a plunger. This scene, which differs from his authoritative persona as the committee chairman, foreshadows the incidents and comedy that will unfold in the headquarters. In a dinner scene, Professor Ye (Jung Soo-young), an aesthetics professor who studied in France, holds a liquor bottle with a solemn expression, while Ki Jun-su laughs brightly. Korean language professor Na Eun-mi (Hwang Bo-ra), featuring flamboyant styling, appears with a stiff expression, hinting at further incidents.
